1. Privacy-first design

Wispr Affirmations does not require an account and does not operate a cloud service for your personal app content.

Your affirmations, mood check-ins, gratitude entries, favorites, playlists, and preferences are stored locally on your Apple devices. We do not sell your personal information or use it for advertising.

Some information may leave your device when:

  • you enable optional analytics or crash reporting;
  • you purchase or restore a Premium subscription;
  • you export or share content using Apple's sharing features;
  • you use the Apple Watch, widget, or iMessage extension.

2. Information stored locally

The app may store the following information on your device:

  • your display name, if you provide one;
  • custom affirmations;
  • favorite affirmations;
  • mood check-ins, dates, and selected mood details;
  • gratitude journal entries;
  • breathing-completion history;
  • ASMR playlist names, selections, playback history, and timers;
  • selected categories, themes, fonts, and app preferences;
  • notification schedules;
  • your analytics and crash-reporting consent choices.

Some information you enter, such as mood or gratitude entries, may reveal sensitive or health-related information. This content remains local unless you deliberately export or share it.

Local app data may also be included in device backups managed by Apple, depending on your Apple device and backup settings.

3. Widgets, Apple Watch, and iMessage

If you use these features, selected information may be shared locally between the app and its extensions through Apple's App Group and WatchConnectivity systems.

This may include:

  • daily and favorite affirmations;
  • selected custom affirmations;
  • today's mood;
  • whether gratitude or breathing was completed;
  • display preferences.

The app does not send this information to its own server.

The iMessage extension generates affirmation images and inserts them into a conversation only when you choose to share them.

4. Optional analytics

Analytics are disabled by default and can be enabled or disabled at any time under Settings → Privacy.

When enabled, PostHog may receive limited usage events such as:

  • app version, build, language, and platform;
  • screens and features used;
  • selected categories, themes, or subscription products;
  • counts and interaction statuses;
  • events such as opening the app, completing breathing, saving gratitude, or checking in with a mood.

We do not intentionally send your gratitude text, custom affirmation text, mood value, display name, or full personal history to PostHog.

The app is configured to use PostHog's European endpoint where available. PostHog may process technical information according to its own privacy documentation.

5. Optional crash reporting

Crash reporting is disabled by default and can be enabled or disabled under Settings → Privacy.

When enabled, Sentry may receive technical information needed to diagnose errors, including:

  • device and operating-system information;
  • app version, build, and release;
  • error reports and technical breadcrumbs;
  • limited diagnostic context.

The app is configured not to send default personal information, screenshots, view hierarchies, or failed-request payloads. We do not intentionally include journal entries, mood content, or custom affirmation text in crash reports.

Sentry may still process technical network information required to operate its service, such as an IP address.

6. Purchases and subscriptions

Premium purchases and subscription restoration are processed by Apple through StoreKit.

We do not receive or store your payment card details, billing address, or Apple Account password. We receive only the information necessary to determine whether Premium access is active.

Apple's handling of payment and transaction information is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy.

7. Notifications, motion, and photos

If you grant permission:

  • Notifications: the app schedules local reminders for affirmations, mood check-ins, and gratitude. The app does not use a push-notification server.
  • Motion data: device motion may be processed locally to create the optional parallax visual effect.
  • Photos and sharing: the app can generate affirmation images for sharing or saving. It does not browse or read your existing photo library.

The app does not request access to your camera, microphone, contacts, location, advertising identifier, or Apple Health data.

8. How information is used

Information is used to:

  • provide and personalize app features;
  • store your preferences and local routines;
  • schedule local reminders;
  • synchronize selected content with supported Apple extensions;
  • process Premium access through Apple;
  • improve app reliability and usage understanding when you opt in;
  • respond to support requests sent to us.

Where data-protection law applies, optional analytics and crash reporting are based on your consent. Other processing is based on providing the app, maintaining security, complying with legal obligations, or our legitimate interest in operating and improving the app.

9. Sharing and third parties

We do not sell your personal information.

When you use the iOS share sheet, export your data, save an image, or send an affirmation through iMessage, the selected content may be transferred to the app, service, or person you choose. That recipient's privacy policy then applies.

Third-party services used by the app may include:

  • Apple StoreKit and Apple system services;
  • PostHog, if analytics are enabled;
  • Sentry, if crash reporting is enabled.

These providers may process information in countries other than your own, subject to their privacy policies and applicable safeguards.

10. Retention and deletion

Local app data remains on your device until you edit or delete it, use Reset Local Data, or uninstall the app.

You can:

  • edit or delete individual mood and gratitude entries;
  • delete custom affirmations and playlists;
  • export your local app state as JSON;
  • reset all local app data from Settings → Privacy;
  • disable analytics and crash reporting at any time.

Disabling optional monitoring stops future collection but may not automatically delete data already received by PostHog or Sentry. You may contact us to request deletion of information that can reasonably be associated with you.

Analytics and crash reports are retained according to our configured provider settings and applicable legal requirements.

11. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, object to, or export personal information.

Because Wispr Affirmations does not use accounts and stores personal app content locally, the fastest way to access or delete that content is through the app itself.

For privacy requests, contact [email protected]. We may need additional information to identify data held by optional third-party services.

You may also contact your local data-protection authority if you believe your rights have been violated.

12. Children

Wispr Affirmations is not designed to knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information through optional monitoring or support contact, please contact us so we can review and delete it where appropriate.

13. Security

We use reasonable technical measures to protect information handled by the app and its configured service providers. Local security also depends on your device passcode, operating-system security, and backup settings.

No method of storage or transmission is completely secure.

14. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy when the app, its features, or applicable legal requirements change. The updated version will be published at the privacy-policy URL shown in the app.
